About

Origin
The story behind PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera traces back to 2013, when its founder established a coal mining contractor (IUJP) operating in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Through roughly five years of hands-on experience in coal mining — and a growing network of local coal buyers — the decision was made to establish a company dedicated solely to coal trading.
PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera was founded in Surabaya in 2018, marking the beginning of its full-time focus on coal trading for both domestic and export markets. Drawing on years of practical mining experience, the company combines technical understanding, market knowledge, and operational reliability to connect producers and buyers with confidence.

Today
PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera provides integrated coal supply and trading solutions for domestic and international markets, connecting producers and buyers through reliable supply chains and transparent business practices. The company remains focused on maintaining compliance and building long-term relationships with its business partners.
With a clear focus on coal trading, PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera continues to strengthen its position in the market — expanding its network of buyers and producers while staying responsive to the evolving dynamics of the energy sector.

Sales Procedure
PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera follows a structured sales procedure — applied consistently whether buying from suppliers or selling to buyers — to ensure every coal supply is verified, properly contracted, and delivered with full accountability.
01 — Source Verification
Confirming the coal’s true origin before anything else.
Every coal supply offered is verified to originate directly from the rightful coal owner — whether an IUP OP holder or a trader. This is confirmed through a site visit, sampling, and verification of the coal’s origin documents.
02 — Draft Agreement
Setting the terms before any commitment is made.
Once source verification is passed, the process proceeds to a draft contract. The draft contract is completed and agreed upon by both parties, covering quantity, laycan schedule, and pricing. Before the contract is signed, the process moves forward to the next step.
03 — Independent Quality Verification
Letting an independent eye confirm what’s been agreed.
An MOU is drafted and signed by both parties, under which an independent surveyor is sent to the location of the coal — whether at the stockpile or jetty as agreed — to verify the overall quality of the total cargo to be traded. If the results match the contract terms, the process proceeds to the final step.
04 — Contract & Payment
Sealing the deal once everything checks out.
The contract is signed, and payment is required to be completed within three working days at the latest. Before payment is made, the seller must provide a certificate of cargo transfer from the coal owner. The term of payment and schedule follow the agreement set out in the signed contract.
FAQ
PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera operates as a coal trading company, currently acting as a buyer to fulfill established export market demand. That said, the company may also supply coal to selected prospective buyers, considered based on source availability, specifications, pricing, volume, and commercial terms.
PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera is currently more focused on the export market. Coal is generally purchased from mines on an FOB Barge basis, then loaded to MV for supply to a single major exporter partner, on an FOB MV basis. The exporter then handles onward sales to the international market. This supply chain has been firmly established since 2022.
For 2026, PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera is focusing on GAR 4200–4000 and GAR 3400–3200.
Â
Other GAR specifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis where there is matching buyer demand, source availability, and commercially feasible terms.
Coal quality is verified through inspection and sampling, followed by laboratory analysis conducted by PT. Geoservices, a well-established independent surveyor in Indonesia.
PT. Kaot Energi Sejahtera is actively seeking GAR 4000–4200 producers, with priority given to first-party sources (IUP OP / Miner), to support additional export supply. The preferred supply structure is export-scale volume, typically around 50,000 MT per shipment, rather than small-volume spot cargoes.
For export supply, shipment volume is typically 50,000 MT per shipment on an FOB MV basis, with payment by LC at sight. Domestic supply, not being the company’s main focus, may still be considered on a case-by-case basis, with shipments starting from 7,500 MT per shipment on an FOB Barge basis and cash payment, subject to suitable source, specifications, pricing, and commercial terms.
Formal negotiations are conducted via company email, while a dedicated marketing team is also available for faster communication through WhatsApp.
